Parking During Special Events

Updated: 06-25-2015 at 12:51 p.m.

In preparation for special events, you will notice more meter bags throughout the city. These bags are currently being used to create a no parking zone necessary for road closures this Hoopfest weekend.

The Spokane Police Department Event Coordinator and the Asset Management Department have approved all special event meter bags. These are yellow plastic bags with an indication of time and date after which metered space becomes a no parking and tow away zone. Please move your car before the no parking and tow away zone is active or your vehicle will be towed. There are also red meter bags – these are Police Department bags. These bags indicate a no parking and tow away zone, and you cannot park here at ANY time.

By Friday, several sections of downtown parking meters will be bagged ahead of Hoopfest. Check out this Hoopfest Event Map for more information (Sections with bagged meters are marked in red).

If you think your vehicle has been towed, please contact Crime Check at 509.456.2233. You will be responsible for paying all towing and storage costs incurred if your vehicle is towed.
