Three finalists considered for Police Ombudsman

The search for a new Police Ombudsman in Spokane has been narrowed to three finalists.

After a nationwide search, the OPO Commission is considering Bob Breeden, Allen Huggins, and Raheel Humayun, all of whom were recommended by the Police Ombudsman Selection Committee for the vacant Police Ombudsman position. The selection committee evaluated more than 40 applications before narrowing the field. Applications came from across the country and even outside the country. The application process closed May 15.

All three candidates will be in Spokane on August 27th to be interviewed by the OPO Commission and answer questions from interested community members. View the complete schedule and location of events.

The position has been vacant since Spokane's first Police Ombudsman, Tim Burns, retired earlier this year.
