Here at Riverfront Park, we have been working hard to prepare for our busiest time of year. On April 1, 2016, the Riverfront Park IMAX Theatre will open for the season. The IMAX will be open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, daily during Spring Break (April 4th -8th), and on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until May. The IMAX will be open daily from May 27, 2016 until September 5, 2016.

The Pavilion rides open on April 2, 2016, and will be open daily through April 10th, for spring break. After that, the rides will operate on weekends (and Memorial Day, May 30th) until school is out. The rides begin daily operation for the summer on June 18th, and will operate through Labor Day, September 5th, 2016.

For more information on our hours of operation, please visit our website.

We are excited about the 3 new movies in our lineup this season, and we have 3 returning favorites. We believe in providing entertainment that is “family friendly” and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Our new movies are: D-Day Normandy 1944, Living in the Age of Airplanes, and Mysteries of the Unseen World. Our returning movies are: Journey to the South Pacific, Everest (1998), and Lewis and Clark: Great Journey West.

For information on admission prices and showtimes, please visit our IMAX page, where you can also watch each movie trailer.

Here’s a brief summary of the movies we are showing:

  • D-Day Normandy 1944 – This film, narrated by Tom Brokaw, brings to the big screen, for the first time ever, the events that unfolded from the end of 1943 through August 1944, and changed the world. Using CGI, animation, and live-action images, Normandy explores the history and military strategy behind this monumental event.
  • Living in the Age of Airplanes – This National Geographic movie, narrated by Harrison Ford, shows how airplanes have changed the world and our daily life. Airplanes was filmed in 18 countries, across 7 continents and took about 6 years to make. This movie showcases the wonder and magnificence of flying as it takes you around the globe.
  • Mysteries of the Unseen World – Technology allows us to “see” things we usually don’t see. Using high-speed and time-lapse photography, electron microscopes, and nanotechnology, Mysteries of the Unseen World, will transport you to other worlds, where you can behold events, creatures and processes in an amazing new way.
  • Journey to the South Pacific – Journey to the lush, tropical islands of West Papua, and follow Jawi, a young island boy, on a breathtaking adventure with whale sharks, sea turtles, manta rays and more. West Papua has the most diverse marine ecosystem on the planet and is home to over 2,000 species of sea life.
  • Everest (1998) – This is the true story of a team of climbers who successfully ascended Mount Everest a few days after the loss of their fellow climbers and friends. Everest is a compelling story about the triumph of the human spirit.
  • Lewis and Clark: Great Journey West – Experience the natural beauty and danger of the unknown West, as Lewis and Clark lead an expedition to the Pacific Ocean and back.

We hope to see you and your family having fun at Riverfront Park!
