Chapter 17C.319 Commercial Vehicle Use and Recreational Camping

Section 17C.319.200 Recreational Camping

The purpose of this section is to regulate the use and occupancy of recreational vehicles, tents, huts, and other temporary shelters on private property in all zones.

  1. A recreational vehicle, tent, hut, or other temporary shelter may not be occupied on private property, except a manufactured home park or a mobile home park, for more than fourteen days in a consecutive twelve-month period.
     
  2. A recreational vehicle (see SMC 17A.020.180) is designed as a temporary living unit and is prohibited from being used as a permanent dwelling unit except in a manufactured or mobile home park unless the recreational vehicle fails to comply with fire and safety ordinances.
     
  3. Recreational vehicles in a manufactured or mobile home park are required to be hooked up to utilities and have an internal toilet and internal shower, or toilets and showers are provided by the manufactured or mobile home facility.
