City of Spokane Code Enforcement staffs two different teams to support a safe and clean Spokane. The first team is often referred to as the Homeless Outreach Team, "HOT." The HOT Team includes up to six Code Enforcement employees plus two SPD officers who address unauthorized camping complaints and their secondary impacts. The second team also includes up to six Code Enforcement employees who manage all other abatement (or cleanup) work, including illegal dumping abatement, private property solid waste and/or vegetation abatements, graffiti abatements, and a newly launched proactive route in partnership with the Washington State Department of Transportation. These City employees clean up multiple tons of litter each year. This dashboard illustrates the scope, amount, and location of their work.
