SPD and Gonzaga University Security work together to ensure safe and lawful celebrations surrounding Saturday’s NCAA game

Spokane Police will have added units out on Saturday as Gonzaga advances to the Final Four basketball tournament. Gonzaga University Campus Security and Public Safety will join SPD in providing security and enforcement throughout the afternoon, evening, and into the early hours of Sunday, April 4th.

Police officers will focus on the Logan neighborhood near the Gonzaga campus and will also activate a downtown bar patrol and work other areas of the community as needed. Officers will enforce violations of the law to ensure all celebrations remain peaceful. SPD encourages students and the community alike to celebrate our hometown team in a safe, lawful and respectful manner. SPD also reminds people if they are watching the game at a friend’s house or restaurant/bar to have a designated driver if drinking. Please be mindful of traffic and pedestrian laws when celebrating outdoors.
