Five Mile Road from Lincoln Road to Strong Road

Project Number: 2015056

Project Location: Five Mile Road from Lincoln Road to Strong Road

Project Status: The roundabout at Five Mile Road and Strong Road has been completed, Five Mile Road (Lincoln to Strong) remains closed to thru traffic. Work on this project is behind schedule. The City expects 2019 construction to be completed around the 2nd week of November (weather dependent). Work has been slower than expected due to some unexpected scheduling issues with private utilities. It is likely that additional work on landscaping and swales will need to be finalized in the Spring of 2020, causing limited access during that time.

Description: The project will include full depth pavement restoration on Five Mile Road, from Lincoln to Strong. This will include the installation of ADA ramps at intersections and crosswalks, replacement of a 18" steel water main (from Lincoln to Strong), Stormwater improvements (swales and trees), installation of pedestrian illumination at Five Mile and Strong Road, and the installation of a roundabout at the intersection of Five Mile and Strong Road.

Detour: A detour will be in place, which will utilize W. Johannsen Road and Cedar.
