Project planning and scoping is just getting under way to improve another section of Sprague Avenue—from Browne east to Scott within the South University District.
Over the next 6 to 9 months, City of Spokane staff will be collecting input and information from business and property owners, the neighborhood, and the public about what the project could include and how it can help improve transportation and ultimately the vitality of the area.
The scoping work will consider lane configurations, streetscape improvements, lighting, signals, and stormwater work, along with the need to replace a water main and pavement.
Currently, the City has funding for project scoping and later for design. There is no funding for construction at this time. The City will seek construction funding after the project scoping work is complete.
