Sprague Avenue Rebuild Phase 2

Project Number: 2014155

Project Location: Sprague Avenue from Grant to Scott

Description: Reconstruct the roadway while enhancing pedestrian and cyclist safety, and utility replacements/upgrades. This project is funded by local, state, and federal funds.

In order to preserve the street life by minimizing the impact of pavement cuts, the City of Spokane, Spokane County and the City of Spokane Valley, in coordination with public and private area utilities, together adopted a regional pavement cut policy. Although there are nuances to this policy, it generally places a 3-year moratorium on future pavement cuts following pavement construction or reconstruction.

The City of Spokane's Pavement Cut Policy applies for this project. More information.

Design elements include:

  • Extension of the three-lane section from Sherman to Pine Street
  • Retaining of parking on both side of the roadway, except for the area between Brown and Division Streets
  • Sidewalk will be repaired and widened
