Sprague Avenue Rebuild Phase 2

Project Location: Sprague Avenue from Grant to Scott

Description: Sprague Ave. rebuild from Division St. to Grant St. Reconstruct the roadway while enhancing pedestrian and cyclist safety, and utility replacements/upgrades. This project is funded by local, state, and federal funds.

Design elements include:

  • Extension of the three-lane section from Sherman to Pine Street
  • Retaining of parking on both side of the roadway, except for the area between Brown and Division Streets
  • Sidewalk will be repaired and widened

To reduce pavement degradation, the City of Spokane's Pavement Cut Policy is in effect for all street-related projects.

Funding for this project is a combination of arterial street funds, utility funds, and University District Revitalization Area revenue.

The construction of other projects along Sprague Avenue have been coordinated with this project. Other projects include:

  • A grind and overlay on Sprague from Scott to Helena will being in early Spring, 2019
