Chapter 13.03A Pretreatment

Article II. General Requirements

Section 13.03A.0208 Pretreatment Facilities [2.8]
  1. Users are responsible for all cost and liability to provide wastewater pretreatment to comply with this chapter and shall achieve compliance with all applicable pretreatment standards and requirements contained or referenced in this chapter as specified by the EPA, state, City, or Plant Manager as may be most stringent. Any facilities required to pretreat wastewater to acceptable levels must be provided, operated, and well maintained at the user’s sole expense and liability. Engineering reports, detailed plans and specifications, and an operation and maintenance manual acceptable to the  Plant Manager showing pretreatment facilities and operating procedures, together with any other information required by the Plant Manager shall be submitted to the Plant Manager for review and approval before construction. Review and/or approval of plans, operating procedures or other submittals never relieves the user or submitting party from full compliance. Facilities must be maintained by the user in accordance with approved reports, plans, operating procedures, and other submittals.
  1. Application for plan approvals must be signed in accord with SMC 13.03A.0305(B). Fees will be assessed in accordance with SMC 13.03A.1401.
