Chapter 10.36 Gas Transmission and Distribution
Section 10.36.260 Backfilling – Compaction
The excavator must compact backfill to a degree equivalent to the original undisturbed ground in which the trench was dug. The excavator may select, based upon the character of the soil, to compact by mechanical tampers or vibrators, by rolling in layers, or by water settling, except that water settling requires the approval of the director of engineering services.
