Chapter 02.005 Council President and City Council

Section 02.005.020 Council President Pro Tem

  1. The council president pro tem is a council member, elected by the council, to carry out the duties of council president in cases of temporary absence of the council president. The council president pro tem shall collaborate with the council president to develop an efficient city council for the good of the City.
     
  2. In order to provide a continuing legal capacity to carry out the duties of the mayor in case of temporary absence from the City of the mayor and the council president, the council president pro tem acts in the capacity of mayor as may be needed to cover normal operational contingencies.
