Chapter 03.03 City Holidays

Section 03.03.060 Uniformed Employees
  1. Police personnel required to work on any of the days noted as holidays in this chapter are paid at the rate of twice the normal day’s pay for that day’s service in lieu of such holiday. Such payment commences with the first shift, beginning at eleven forty-five p.m. the day preceding the holiday, and terminates with the commencement of the first shift commencing at eleven forty-five p.m. on the day of said holiday.
     
  2. Twenty-four-hour emergency fire personnel required to work on any of the days noted as holidays in this chapter are paid, in addition to their regular salary, the amount of one-tenth of their biweekly salary. Such payment commences with the eight a.m. shift on the beginning of said holiday, and terminates with the commencement of the eight a.m. shift on the day following said holiday. This procedure is followed regardless of the day of the week on which said holiday may fall.
