Chapter 13.03 Sewers

Article I. Definitions

Section 13.03.0215 “Wastewater”
  1. “Wastewater” includes anything released into the POTW and generally includes water-carried wastes from domestic, business or commercial, or manufacturing or industrial sources.
  1. For purposes of reference, four categories of wastewater, based on its generic source, are identified in usage:
    1. Sanitary sewage, as defined in SMC 13.03.0177;
    1. Stormwater, defined in SMC 13.03.0199;
    1. Industrial process wastewater or process wastewater, defined in SMC 13.03.0127; and
    1. Noncontact cooling water, defined in SMC 13.03.0143.
  1. Additionally, “wastewater” is divided into two general classes for purposes of rates and treatment requirements:
    1. Standard strength sewage, defined in SMC 13.03.0197; and
    1. Non-standard strength sewage, defined in SMC 13.03.0145.
