Section 17C.111.540 Pedestrian Connections in Parking Lots
  1. Purpose.

To create a network of safe and attractive linkages for pedestrians.

  1. Design Standards.
    1. Within parking lots containing more than thirty stalls, clearly defined pedestrian connections shall be provided: (R)
      1. between a public right-of-way and building entrances;
      1. between parking lots and building entrances pedestrian connections can be counted toward the amount of required landscaping.
    1. Pedestrian connections shall not be less than five feet wide. (R)
    1. Pedestrian connections shall be clearly defined by at least two of the following: (R)
      1. Six-inch vertical curb.
      1. Textured paving, including across vehicular lanes.
      1. A continuous landscape area at a minimum of three feet wide on at least one side of the walkway.
