Chapter 17C.220 Off-site Impacts

Section 17C.220.080 Glare
  1. Display and Flood Lighting.

All display and flood lighting is required to be constructed, shielded and used so as not to directly illuminate or create glare visible from adjacent properties, residential zones or public rights-of-way. Lighting resembling or conflicting with traffic signals or emergency vehicles or otherwise creating safety hazards for pedestrian of vehicular traffic is prohibited.

  1. Interior Lighting in Parking Garages.

Interior lighting in parking garages shall be shielded, to minimize nighttime glare affecting nearby uses.

  1. Strobe Lights.

Strobe lights visible from a right-of-way or adjacent property are not allowed.

  1. Lighting Plan.

When exterior lighting is provided, a lighting plan is submitted prior to the issuance of a development permit and includes the following:

    1. Location of all lighting fixtures on the site.
    1. Manufacturer’s model identification of each lighting fixture.
    1. Manufacturer’s performance specifications of each fixture; and
    1. Photometric plan of the installed fixtures which demonstrates that all illumination is confined within the boundaries of the site.
