Chapter 17F.030 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code

Section 17F.030.060 Installation Clearance – Front, Back and Sides

When boilers are replaced or new boilers installed in either existing or new buildings, sufficient access must be provided for inspection, maintenance, operation and repair. As a minimum clearances at sides, front and back wall shall be the manufacturer’s recommendations, but in no case less than eighteen inches. Boilers having manholes shall have five feet clearance from the manhole opening and any wall, ceiling or piping that will prevent a person from entering the boiler (Reference WAC 296-104-256).
