Chapter 17F.030 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code

Section 17F.030.140 Temporary Operator’s Permit

Whenever sickness, accident, or similar unforeseen circumstance prevents the regularly employed boiler operator from attending a boiler:

  1. the owner of the premises, upon notifying the inspector, may employ any competent person to take charge of the boiler for a period not exceeding twenty-four hours;
     
  2. the boiler inspector may issue a permit to any person deemed competent to operate the boiler until the next meeting of the board of examiners, or longer if necessary until the vacancy can be filled.
