Section 17F.040.100 Early Start Approval

  1. An applicant for a building permit may, in a writing detailing the reasons, request early start approval.
     
  2. Early start approval, if granted, is usually predicated on weather conditions or some emergency beyond the control of the owner and is granted in the form of a foundation permit based upon the submittal of a complete set of plans and the approval by the examiner of the footings/foundation portion.
     
  3. There is a special fee for an early start approval prescribed in SMC 8.02.031(K).
     
  4. Except for that work authorized by the early start approval, all other aspects of the permit processing remain the same and the applicant proceeding under early start approval does so at his own risk that no other permits will be granted or any work approved.
