Section 17F.040.160 Functions of Building Inspector
The building inspector has responsibility to:
- process applications for licenses and permits;
- review and approve plans, specifications, diagrams and drawings;
- conduct inspections of work sites, work in progress and buildings;
- make and promulgate rules, regulations and interpretations of the building code;
- initiate proceedings, including prosecutions, to enforce the building code;
- maintain records of all permits issued and of all other administrative activities under the building code;
- provide clerical and technical assistance to the construction review board, as provided in chapter 4.06 SMC and
- Issue civil infractions to enforce any violation of this chapter.
