Section 17F.040.160 Functions of Building Inspector

The building inspector has responsibility to:

  1. process applications for licenses and permits;
  1. review and approve plans, specifications, diagrams and drawings;
  1. conduct inspections of work sites, work in progress and buildings;
  1. make and promulgate rules, regulations and interpretations of the building code;
  1. initiate proceedings, including prosecutions, to enforce the building code;
  1. maintain records of all permits issued and of all other administrative activities under the building code;
  1. provide clerical and technical assistance to the construction review board, as provided in chapter 4.06 SMC and
  1. Issue civil infractions to enforce any violation of this chapter.
