Chapter 17F.070 Existing Building and Conservation Code

Section 17F.070.420 Complaint – Content
  1. Whenever the building inspector, upon inspection and any other investigation as may be done, finds a building or premises to be in violation of this chapter, he prepares a written complaint:
    1. specifying the violations; and
    1. stating his determination that the property is a boarded-up building, substandard building, unfit building, or otherwise a public nuisance; and
    1. giving notice of a hearing before the director of building services at a time and place stated; and
    1. advising that any interested person may file an answer to the complaint and appear and be heard at the hearing; and
    1. advising that a copy of the complaint will be filed of record in the office of the Spokane County auditor.
  1. Whenever the building inspector and fire inspector, upon investigation, find a building or portion to be in violation of the requirements of this chapter for apartment and hotel buildings over two stories in height, they prepare an inspection report:
    1. containing a detailed list of deficiencies, including citations to the appropriate code or regulation sections;
    1. giving a timetable for correction; and
    1. requiring a written response or notice of appeal within thirty days.
