Chapter 17G.050 Hearing Examiner

Article I. Office of Hearing Examiner

Section 17G.050.040 Deputy and Pro Tem Hearing Examiner

  1. The hearing examiner may appoint with the approval of the city council a deputy hearing examiner or hearing examiner pro tem to assist the hearing examiner. Such deputy or hearing examiner pro tem shall have the power to perform the duties of the hearing examiner whenever the hearing examiner is absent, has a conflict of interest, or otherwise so requests.
     
  2. The qualifications for deputy hearing examiner or hearing examiner pro tem are the same as for the hearing examiner.
     
  3. A deputy hearing examiner or hearing examiner pro tem may be removed by the hearing examiner only for good cause or, if serving under a contract, according to its terms or upon its expiration. In the case of removal for cause, the hearing examiner is required to set forth in writing and make available to the person being removed the reason for removal.
