Chapter 12.03 Airport Regulations

Article IV. Airport Access – Commercial Activity – Motor Vehicles

Section 12.03.0508 For-hire Vehicles at Spokane International Airport

Operators of for-hire vehicles are required to comply with all Spokane International Airport ground transportation regulations and other terms and conditions as the Spokane Airport Board shall prescribe. No person shall operate any vehicle for hire to or from the airport unless such operation is with the approval of the Spokane Airport Board as evidenced by an approved operating agreement setting forth such terms and conditions as the Spokane Airport Board shall prescribe. Such terms include the following:

  1. Licensing and Certification of For-Hire Vehicles at Spokane International Airport

    1. No person may own, operate, use, or drive a for-hire vehicle at the Spokane International Airport unless such person maintains a valid for-hire driver’s license as required in Chapter 10.34.120 SMC.

    2. No person may own, operate, use, or drive a for-hire vehicle at the Spokane International Airport unless such person possesses a valid for-hire vehicle license, insurance binder, and relevant inspection certificates as required in SMC 10.34.030.

    3. Failure to comply with any of the regulations for licensing and certification of for-hire vehicles at the Spokane International Airport shall be punishable as a misdemeanor.

  2. Regulations for Operation of For-Hire Vehicles at Spokane International Airport

    1. Operators of for-hire vehicles shall pick-up and drop-off passengers only at designated locations of the airport. (See Attached map.)

    2. No operator of any for-hire vehicle shall park or occupy any cellphone lot, hotel parking lot or other prohibited or posted area.

    3. Use of an airport transponder or equivalent device shall be in compliance with use as prescribed by the Spokane Airport Board.

    4. Operators of for-hires vehicle shall adhere to requirements pertaining to trade dress as established by the Spokane Airport Board.

    5. Failure to comply with any of the regulations for operation of for-hire vehicles at the Spokane International Airport shall be punishable as a misdemeanor.

  3. General Regulations

    1. No operator of any for-hire vehicle shall engage in any activity which constitutes a disturbance of airport operations, tenants, passengers or users of the airport.

    2. No operator of any for-hire vehicle shall engage in any activity which is loud, boisterous or offensive or aggressive solicitation of business at the airport.

    3. No operator of any for-hire vehicle shall smoke inside or outside their vehicle.

    4. Failure to comply with any of the general regulations for operation of for-hire vehicles at the Spokane International Airport shall be punishable as a misdemeanor.
