ati ng Facilities
Definition. Boati ng facilities include uses for boat or launch ramps. Boati ng facility use generally requires shoreline modificati on with impacts to the shoreline both waterward and landward of the ordinary high water mark.
Boati ng facilities shall meet the requirement for no net loss of shoreline ecological functions.
Boati ng facilities shall not conflict with existing or planned public access opportunities.
Boati ng facilities shall be located only on sites with suitable environmental conditions, shoreline configurati on, access, and neighboring uses.
Preference shall be given to existing boat launch facilities that can be modified to accommodate multiple types of permitted non-motorized water craft uses.
Locati on and design of boati ng facilities shall not obstruct use of the water.
Launch ramps and accessory uses shall be located and designed with the minimum necessary shoreline stabilizati on to adequately protect facilities from floods and destructive storms.
Launch ramps and accessory uses shall be located where water depths are adequate to avoid the need for dredging.
Boati ng facilities shall be limited to the minimum size necessary to meet the needs of the use.
Accessory parking facilities shall be located outside the shoreline jurisdiction.
Live-aboard vessels shall not be allowed.
