ati ons
In addition to this section, shoreline modificati ons are subject to the regulati ons in Article V, Part IV , General Requirements for Shoreline Modificati ons.
Refer to SMC 17E.060.300 for modificati ons that are exempt from obtaining a shoreline substantial development permit. An exemption from the shoreline substantial development permit process is not an exemption from compliance with the Shoreline Management Act or provisions of these shoreline regulati ons, or from any other regulatory requirements. To be authorized, all modificati ons must be consistent with the policies and regulati ons of the entire SMP and the Act.

Permitted Modificati ons – “P.”
Modificati ons permitted are listed in Table 17E.060.670-1 with a “P.” These modificati ons are allowed if they comply with the development standards of these shoreline regulati ons and Title 17C SMC . A shoreline substantial development permit or an exemption from such permit is required, pursuant to SMC 17E.060.290 and SMC 17E.060.300 .
Limited – “L.”
Modificati ons allowed that are subject to limitati ons are listed in Table 17E.060.670-1 with an “L.” These modificati ons are allowed if they comply with the limitati ons as listed in the footnotes following the table and the development standards of these shoreline regulati ons and Title 17C SMC . A shoreline substantial development permit or an exemption from such permit is required.
Conditional Uses – “CU.”
Modificati ons that are allowed if approved through the shoreline conditional use review process are listed in Table 17E.060.670-1 with a “CU.” These modificati ons are allowed provided they comply with the conditional use approval criteria, the development standards of these shoreline regulati ons, and Title 17C SMC . Modificati ons listed with a “CU” that also have a footnote number in the table are subject to the standards cited in the footnote.
