Title 13 Public Utilities and Services
Chapter 13.02 Solid Waste
Article III. Collect ion
Section 13.02.0310 Collect ion Schedule – Container Placement Deadlines
Collect ion services are scheduled in three work shifts:
Night Schedule.
Collect ion occurs after ten p.m. until six-thirty a.m. of the collect ion day.
For purposes of reference, the collect ion day for night service is reckoned as that calendar day that starts before midnight, although the night shift actually continues into a new calendar day after midnight.
Night schedule is only for the central city collect ion area.
Some containers are placed out in right-of-way areas for collect ion.
The deadline for container placement for pickup is eight p.m.
After collect ion, containers must be returned to their regular storage area promptly, but no later than seven a.m. or two hours after collect ion by the department, whichever occurs last.
The above rules apply to both refuse and recycling containers.
Early Day Schedule.
Collect ion occurs any time after five a.m. of the collect ion day.
Early day schedule is primarily for commercial container customers outside the central city collect ion area.
The deadline for all commercial container placement for pickup is five a.m.
After collect ion, containers must be returned to their storage area promptly, but no later than two hours after collect ion by the department.
The above rules apply to both refuse and recycling containers.
Regular Day Schedule.
Regular day schedule is primarily for residential automated cart customers outside the central city collect ion area.
The deadline for container placement for pickup is six a.m.
Collect ion occurs any time after six a.m. of the collect ion day.
After collect ion, containers not regularly stored at the container pickup location must be removed from the pickup location and returned to their regular storage area, out of general curbside, sidewalk or pickup area visibility promptly, but no later than nine p.m. in the evening of the collect ion day.
Collect ion times for recycling are the same as general mixed solid waste, unless different specific arrangements are made with the customer, except residential recycling customers (single-family and multi-unit dwellings) served by the night schedule for general solid waste will receive early day service for recycling pickup.
Said residential customers must have recycling containers at the collect ion pickup location no later than six a.m. of the collect ion day.
All containers must be removed from the curb by nine p.m. in the evening of the collect ion day.
Carts must be placed in a secure location after collect ion; customers who fail to comply are responsible for damage, arson, missing carts, and/or illegal dumping in and around carts.
