The department is required to offer minimum levels of resident ial curbside recycling collection service to all resident ial-use premises, consistent with the requirement s of chapter 70.95 RCW and the Spokane solid waste management plan, to encourage recycling and reduce the amount of waste generated.

For premises with multi-unit dwellings, an approved recycling container of greater volume may be required to be used, depending on the level of service need for the account, as determined by the director.
Nonresident ial-use premises may choose to receive service with or without additional recycling. All customers are encouraged to participate in the department ’s recycling program.
In addition to participation in the resident ial recycling program, for nonresident ial-use premises, the department offers reduced rates for recyclables.
