The following standards apply to all building facades that face a public or private street, except those that are separated from the street by another building.
Ent rances Implement ation.
See Figure 17C.111.315-A.
Except as provided in subsection (3), each resident ial structure fronting a public or private street must have at least one address and main ent rance facing or within a 45 degree angle of a street frontage. On a recessed ent ryway, the door of the ent ry is not required to face the street so long as the ent ryway has a pedestrian walkway directly to the street and is recognizable as a building ent ryway. Buildings with multiple units may have shared ent ries. (R)
Each unit with individual ground-floor ent ry and all shared ent ries must have a porch or stoop cover that is at least 3-feet deep. (P)
For a common open space, such as a courtyard or common green, directly abutting a public or private street, resident ial structures that abut both the common open space and the public or private street may directly face the common open space instead of facing the public or private street. (P)
