Section 10.48.300 Special Rules Applicable to Public Schools
Public schools are subject to the following special rules:
Public schools are subject to the following service fee structure:
Public schools are subject to annual registration rules (i.e., providing information on the alarm system and contact information), but are exempt from paying the annual registration fees applicable to government facilities, as described in SMC 10.48.060 .
No fee is charged for the first false alarm in any calendar year.
The fee for the second false alarm in any calendar year is waived, provided the site administrator (or designee) successfully completes the on-line false alarm awareness class.
The third and all subsequent false alarms in any calendar year are charged at the standard service fee rate.
Public schools sites are exempt from registration fees or suspension.
To qualify for the special rules and exemptions under this section, an alarm site must meet the following criteria:
The site is located within the municipal boundaries of the City of Spokane; and
The site is a public school serving children in one or more of grades K-12, owned and operated by Spokane School District 81; or
The site is a public school site serving children in one or more of grades K-12, owned and operated by School District 81.
The alarm administrator may make any other special rules and exceptions as are deemed necessary to assure that appropriate protection and accountability is maintained at public schools.
