Section 16A.06.070 Downtown Residential Park
ing District (DRPD) Permits
Designation of Downtown Residential Parking District.
Residents of multifamily residential properties located within the Paid Parking Zone may purchase parking permits to park at designated locations within the Paid Parking Zone without additional payment at the Paid Parking Devices.
Administration of Downtown Residential Parking Districts
In any Downtown Residential Parking District, the Parking Services Department may issue parking permits or other means of identification, maintain lists of vehicles owned or used by parking permit holders, or adopt any other reasonable means of disting uishing vehicles that are validly parked in a Downtown Residential Parking District.
A parking permit shall not guarantee or reserve to the holder an on-street parking space within the designated Downtown Residential Parking District.
Downtown Residential Parking District permits must be used within the assigned, designated area, as instructed by the City.
Residency. In addition to the parking permit application and requirements set forth in SMC 16A.06.010 , all applicants for Downtown Residential Parking District permit shall also demonstrate proof of the applicant's residency within the applicable Downtown Residential Parking District zone, which may include documented proof that the applicant's vehicle is registered to a residence within the Downtown Residential Parking District.
Authority To Regulate. In order to maintain the integrity of the downtown core, ensure a balanced system with multiple competing needs for on-street parking , and properly manage Downtown Residential Parking District zones, the Parking Services Department may:
Limit the number of Downtown Residential Parking District parking permits issued per household;
Limit the total number of parking permits issued within an entire Downtown Residential Parking District zone;
Charge a fee for Downtown Residential Parking District permits before their issuance; and
Term. All Downtown Residential Parking District parking permits shall be issued with a term not to exceed one year to residents who comply with the requirements as set forth in this Chapter.
