Section 17E.010.480 Spill Prevention and Protection
The options in subsection (B) of this section shall apply whenever the fire official finds:
a violation of this article;
reasonable cause exists to believe a spill or seepage is occurring (SMC 17A.020.180 );
a selected monitoring method is either not effectively monitoring leaks or discloses a leak or possible leak;
other environment al risk.
Under any condition provided in subsection (A) of this section, the fire official may order any or all of the following:
Further approved leak testing.
Implement ation of additional approved monitoring methods.
Removal of AST contents.
Cleanup of spills or seepage.
AST reinforcement , modification, repair, or replacement in accordance with approved City standards.
Prohibit further usage.
Revoke or suspend a permit or impose restrictions or conditions on permit privileges.
Additional or modified containment .
Any other measure deemed reasonably necessary to protect the public health and safety or accomplish the purpose of this chapter.
If, in the opinion of the fire official, a leak or leak risk is created by corrosion or some other unknown cause, the tank and associated structures may be ordered removed from service and/or otherwise safeguarded.
This section shall not restrict any other municipal power or right.
