Section 17E.060.590 Parking Facilities
Definition.
Parking facilities include private and public accessory lots, structures, and loading and unloading areas.
Parking facilities as a primary use or standalone use shall not be allowed within the shoreline jurisdiction.
Parking facilities that are accessory to a permitted use shall be located and designed so that there is no net loss of shoreline ecological functions.
Parking facilities that are accessory to a permitted use within the shoreline jurisdiction shall not be allowed between the development and the adjacent shoreline.
Parking facilities that are accessory to a permitted use shall not extend beyond the building footprint on the shoreline side or one hundred feet from the ordinary high-water mark, whichever is greater.
Surface and structural parking facilities accessory to a permitted use within the shoreline jurisdiction shall include:
a pedestrian entry point to an established or proposed shoreline trail, pathway or viewing area for physical and visual access to the shoreline pursuant to SMC 17E.060.290 , Physical and Visual Public Access;
landscape screening around the perimeter of the parking facility pursuant to chapter 17C.200 SMC , Landscaping.
