Collection services are scheduled in three work shifts:
Night Schedule.
Collection occurs after ten p.m. until six-thirty a.m. of the collection day.
For purposes of reference, the collection day for night service is reckone d as that calendar day that starts before midnight, although the night shift actually continues into a ne w calendar day after midnight.
Night schedule is only for the central city collection area.
Some containe rs are placed out in right-of-way areas for collection.
The deadline for containe r placement for pickup is eight p.m.
After collection, containe rs must be returne d to their regular storage area promptly, but no later than seven a.m. or two hours after collection by the department, whichever occurs last.
The above rules apply to both refuse and recycling containe rs.
Early Day Schedule.
Collection occurs any time after five a.m. of the collection day.
Early day schedule is primarily for commercial containe r customers outside the central city collection area.
The deadline for all commercial containe r placement for pickup is five a.m.
After collection, containe rs must be returne d to their storage area promptly, but no later than two hours after collection by the department.
The above rules apply to both refuse and recycling containe rs.
Regular Day Schedule.
Regular day schedule is primarily for residential automated cart customers outside the central city collection area.
The deadline for containe r placement for pickup is six a.m.
Collection occurs any time after six a.m. of the collection day.
After collection, containe rs not regularly stored at the containe r pickup location must be removed from the pickup location and returne d to their regular storage area, out of gene ral curbside, sidewalk or pickup area visibility promptly, but no later than nine p.m. in the evening of the collection day.
Collection times for recycling are the same as gene ral mixed solid waste, unless different specific arrangements are made with the customer, except residential recycling customers (single-family and multi-unit dwellings) served by the night schedule for gene ral solid waste will receive early day service for recycling pickup.
Said residential customers must have recycling containe rs at the collection pickup location no later than six a.m. of the collection day.
All containe rs must be removed from the curb by nine p.m. in the evening of the collection day.
Carts must be placed in a secure location after collection; customers who fail to comply are responsible for damage, arson, missing carts, and/or illegal dumping in and around carts.
