Section 13.02.0330 Bulky Loading Prohibited
Contents must be able to fall freely from the containe r when dumped or emptied. Containe r lids must be in a completely closed position and swing freely open when the containe r is dumped. Containe rs and carts must be packed to allow easy dumping of contents when inverted.
Overfilled or overloaded containe rs will be assessed additional labor and equipment charges for additional effort to handle overloaded or overfilled containe rs.
Alternatively, in the department’s discretion, collection will be decline d for an overfilled containe r and a minimum service charge will be assessed.
Tree limbs and brush must be cut in four-foot lengths and tied in small bundles if they are to be removed by the regular collection crews.
The solid waste management department may decline to collect cartons, crating or similar bulky materials on regular routes.
“Bulky materials” are large items of solid waste, distinguished from the gene ral, domestic, municipal waste stream collected in automated carts or containe rs.
Examples include but are not limited to appliances, furniture, trees, stumps and other oversized wastes.
