Section 04.23.060 Mission and Goals
The intent of the commission is to improve the quality of life for children and youth in the Spokane area by creating and maintaining a positive environment for all Spokane area youth through partnerships that foster community resources for youth involvement, leadership, recognition and empowerment. The goals of the commission are to:
- be a community leader in the identification of issues affecting youth;
- serve as an advocate for youth needs and improvement in youth policies, and to directly engage the community in this process;
- involve youth in the community decision-making process;
- recognize accomplishments of children and youth and promote the value of youth in our community; and
- develop new programs, initiatives and resources for youth.
