The commission by rule prescribes the selection and function of officers, including at least a chair and vice chair.

A quorum is six voting members. A quorum is necessary to transact any official business of the commission. Any action of the commission requires a majority vote. Matters of procedure for the conduct of commission meetings and the transaction of commission business not provided for by the commission’s rules are determined by reference to Robert’s Rules of Order, newly revised.

The commission through rules and regulations adopts standards to guide the various activities provided in SMC 04.35.080.
