Chapter 10.34A For-Hire Transportation

Section 10.34A.060 Vehicle inspections

1. All for-hire vehicles shall be inspected annually by an ASE-certified mechanic with inspection records provided to the affiliated for-hire operator. Each inspection shall include the following components:

1. 1. Foot brakes;

1. 2. Parking brakes;

1. 3. Steering mechanism;

1. 4. Windshield;

1. 5. Rear window and other glass;

1. 6. Windshield wipers;

1. 7. Headlights;

1. 8. Taillights;

1. 9. Brake lights;

1. 10. Front seat adjustment mechanism;

1. 11. Doors;

1. 12. Turn signal lights;

1. 13. Horn;

1. 14. Speedometer;

1. 15. Bumpers;

1. 16. Muffler and exhaust system;

1. 17. Tires, including tread depth;

1. 18. Interior and exterior mirrors; and

1. 19. Safety belts.

2. The for-hire operator with which the vehicle is affiliated shall maintain records of all inspections for the past three (3) years and shall provide such records to the licensing officer upon request within the audit process provided for in SMC 10.34A.170.
