Section 17C.130.520 Articulation – Building Design

1. Purpose.

To reduce the massiveness of larger buildings.

2. Articulation Implementation.

When this building design element is chosen:

1. 1. Facades longer than fifty feet shall be broken down into smaller units through the use of offsets, recesses, staggered walls, stepped walls, pitched or stepped rooflines, overhangs and other elements of the building’s mass. Simply changing materials or color is not sufficient to accomplish this. (R)

1. 2. Articulation shall be provided along facades visible from the street, as well as from neighboring residential areas. (P)
