Chapter 17F.050 Electrical Code

Section 17F.050.040 Materials
  1. No person may use in the installation, alteration or extension of wiring or fixtures in any building material or equipment not of a type conforming with all applicable standards of the United States Department of Commerce, National Bureau of Standards, or of Underwriters’ Laboratories, or of another nationally recognized testing laboratory.
  2. A person may use material or equipment not labeled or listed as complying with the standards of subsection (A) of this section if:

    1. consisting of approved components; and

    2. the approved components have been inter-connected and enclosed in accordance with the National Electrical Code; or

    3. clearly appearing to meet the safety standards established by recognized testing laboratories for similar material or equipment; and

    4. installed in a manner and for the purpose prescribed.
       
  3. Electrical metallic tubing (E.M.T.) shall not be used for grounding when installed in concrete, under concrete in grouted wall cavities, or in the earth, unless covered by an approved and listed corrosion protection covering, including any elbows, couplings and fittings as required by Section 358-1 of the National Electrical Code.
     
  4. Terminals on the load side of a four-hundred-amp meter socket shall utilize only one lug suitable for use with one or more conductors.
     
  5. Where gutters are used at the service location, they shall not be less than six-inch by six-inch size.
