Chapter 17G.061 Land Use Application Procedures
Section 17G.061.100 Application Types
- Purpose.
Applications are consolidated into application types to simplify the permitting process for applicants and ensure appropriate opportunity for public comment on proposals.
- Excluded Application.
Excluded applications are not subject to the requirements of this chapter. Exclusions are listed in SMC 17G.061.000(C).
- Type I Application.
- A Type I application is subject to administrative approval.
- A Type I application must be categorically exempt from environmental review under RCW 43.21C (SEPA) and chapter 17E.050 SMC.
- Type I applications do not require a public hearing.
- Type II Application.
- A Type II application is subject to administrative approval by a department director.
- A Type II application may or may not be categorically exempt from RCW 43.21C (SEPA) and chapter 17E.050 SMC.
- Type II applications do not require a public hearing.
- Type III Application.
- A Type III application is subject to a quasi-judicial decision of the Hearing Examiner.
- A Type III application may or may not be categorically exempt from RCW 43.21C (SEPA) and chapter 17E.050 SMC.
- Type III applications require a public hearing before the Hearing Examiner.
