Chapter 17F.070 Existing Building and Conservation Code
Section 17F.070.370 Allocation of Responsibility
- SMC 17F.070.370 through 17F.070.390 are intended to specify who has the primary maintenance responsibility for residential buildings whenever the owner(s) and the occupant(s) are different persons.
- The allocation of maintenance responsibility provided in this chapter is subject to the general laws of the state, including specifically the Landlord-Tenant Acts (chapters 59.18 and 59.20 RCW). This chapter does not derogate the rights of contract or affect the principle that the owner of property is ultimately responsible for its condition and use.
