Chapter 17F.090 Mechanical Code

Section 17F.090.020 Organization and Enforcement

Section 104 of the IMC is deleted.

  1. The mechanical inspector is the building official or a designated employee.
  1. The mechanical inspector has responsibility to:
    1. process applications for permits;
    1. inspect and test appliances, equipment and installations;
    1. make and promulgate rules, regulations and interpretations for the mechanical code;
    1. initiate proceedings, including prosecutions, to enforce the mechanical code;
    1. maintain records of permits, licenses and other administrative activities;
    1. provide clerical assistance to the board of heating mechanical examiners.
  1. The board of heating mechanical examiners has jurisdiction over mechanics licenses, as provided in SMC 4.06.150 through 4.06.180.
  1. The hearing officer and construction review board have jurisdiction over the mechanical code, except licensing, as provided in chapter 4.06 SMC.
