Chapter 02.05 Salary Review Commission

Section 02.05.060 Referendum
  1. Salary increases or decreases shall be subject to a referendum petition by the citizens in the same manner as a city ordinance upon filing of such petition with the city clerk within thirty days after filing of the salary schedule by the commission.
    1. In the event of the filing of a valid referendum petition pursuant to Section 83 of the City Charter, the salary increase or decrease shall not go into effect until approved by the voters.
  1. Referendum measures under this section shall be submitted to the voters of the City at the next following general or municipal election occurring thirty days or more after the petition is filed, and shall be otherwise governed by the provisions of the state constitution, city charter and laws generally applicable to referendum measures.
