Section 03.01A.630 Civil Service
  1. The civil service commission is established pursuant to sections 52 through 56 of the City Charter. The specific powers and duties of the commission are set forth in the City Charter.
     
  2. The civil service department provides clerical and administrative support to the civil service commission. The department performs duties required by article VI of the City Charter, including job description, examination, maintenance of eligibility lists, and the investigation and processing of applications and appeals.
     
  3. The chief examiner is the director of civil service and supervises the staff of the commission. The chief examiner is appointed by and reports directly to the civil service commission.
