Chapter 04.39 Opioid Abatement Council

Section 04.39.030 Membership and Meetings
  1. Membership. The SOAC shall consist of five (5) members, appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the city council. At least three members must be employed in the behavioral health and/or addiction field and residents of the City of Spokane. Two members may be nonresidents of the City of Spokane so long as each has recognized expertise in opioid treatment, prevention and/or training.
  1. Terms. Members of the SOAC shall be appointed to five (5) year terms, and may be renewed for up to two (2) successive terms. No member shall serve more than three terms.
  1. Compensation. Members of the SOAC shall serve without compensation, but may be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in the course of business on behalf of the SOAC, including travel expenses.
  1. Frequency of Meetings. The SOAC shall meet no fewer than four times in any calendar year, and shall meet more frequently as may be necessary to complete its functions under the Settlement Documents and this title.
