Chapter 08.19 Asset Forfeiture Program

Section 08.19.010 Purpose and Intent

  1. The City Council recognizes that asset forfeitures can be a useful law enforcement tool by removing the financial incentive for various criminal enterprises.

  2. Coupling the proceeds of asset forfeitures with programs to expand and improve law enforcement activities which help reduce criminal activity and recidivism accomplishes the intent of Washington State Law to assist the criminal justice system in protecting the community.
