Article III. Franchise Conditions
Section 10.27A.810 Interconnection – Cooperation
- For access programming only, a franchisee’s cable system shall be designed, insofar as technically and economically feasible, so as to be capable of interconnection with any cable systems existing in areas contiguous to the City; provided, however, that the reasonable actual cost of such interconnection shall be the responsibility of the City or the requesting operator existing in areas contiguous to the City.

- Such interconnection shall be made within a reasonable time limit established by the city council.

- The interconnection shall be accomplished according to the method and technical standards determined by the city council in a manner consistent with FCC standards.
- Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, an incumbent franchisee shall not be required by the City to interconnect with a newly authorized franchisee operating in the same franchise area. In those cases, the recently authorized franchisee shall be required to connect to the City access studio(s) to receive the City’s access programming for distribution on their cable system.
