Section 10.48.190 Fees for Appropriating Public Police Services for Private Purposes
  1. The cost recovery fees for appropriating public police services for private purposes are in SMC 8.02.088.
    1. Separate rates may be established for commercial properties and residential properties responses to false burglary/property/intrusion alarms and to false robbery/hold-up/panic/duress alarms.
    1. The established rates shall assure that the full cost of police response to false security alarms is recovered by the City.
  1. Cost recovery fees are assessed based on the response requested. An alarm dispatch request reporting a robbery alarm, for example, is subject to the false alarm penalty fee applicable to robbery false alarm responses, even if the alarm activation should properly have been reported as a burglary alarm.
