Chapter 13.035 Water-Wastewater Rates

Section 13.035.700 Water- Wastewater Conservation Incentives

In order to encourage water conservation, the Director of the Utilities Division shall create conservation incentives within the City’s rate structure for water and wastewater.

  1. Each year, a wastewater conservation credit shall be granted to the 20 percent of residential ratepayers with the lowest indoor water usage who are categorized as single-family residential customers of the City’s water utility.
  1. Indoor water usage shall be determined by the average monthly actual water use of a single-family residential customer during the previous winter months of November through March when almost all water usage is indoors.
  1. The credit shall be as follows and shall be equally distributed in twelve monthly installments throughout the course of one year.

  1. Ratepayers shall be notified of their individual water consumption as compared to other users within the rate category.
