Section 17E.060.590 Parking Facilities
- Definition.
Parking facilities include private and public accessory lots, structures, and loading and unloading areas.
- Parking facilities as a primary use or standalone use shall not be allowed within the shoreline jurisdiction.
- Parking facilities that are accessory to a permitted use shall be located and designed so that there is no net loss of shoreline ecological functions.
- Parking facilities that are accessory to a permitted use within the shoreline jurisdiction shall not be allowed between the development and the adjacent shoreline.
- Parking facilities that are accessory to a permitted use shall not extend beyond the building footprint on the shoreline side or one hundred feet from the ordinary high-water mark, whichever is greater.
- Surface and structural parking facilities accessory to a permitted use within the shoreline jurisdiction shall include:

- a pedestrian entry point to an established or proposed shoreline trail, pathway or viewing area for physical and visual access to the shoreline pursuant to SMC 17E.060.290, Physical and Visual Public Access;

- landscape screening around the perimeter of the parking facility pursuant to chapter 17C.200 SMC, Landscaping.
